We're open every day from 11 am to 6 pm

(except July 4th when Kenwood hosts the National Pillow Fights Contest [I kid you not]) and Christmas day
The tasting room is a coop. There are 6 small wineries pouring their wine and there is always a winemaker or a principle behind the counter. PJ Rex can usually be found pouring Deerfield wines.

In the September 3, 1999, issue of the WALL STREET JOURNAL, an article on "Tastings" cited Family Wineries of Sonoma Valley Tasting Room as one of the friendliest and best to visit. From a month-long visit to dozens of wineries, the article recommended only 5 Sonoma County tasting rooms. Family Wineries of Sonoma Valley was one of their favorites, after a rather lengthy discourse on how "crowded. . .boring. . . (or) cold and uncaring" the experience had become at many of the more commercial wineries.
