2008 Chardonnay
Los Chamizal, Sonoma Valley New Release
1 bottle included
Robert
has worked with Peter Haywood, owner of the Los Chamizal Vineyard, for over 30
years. Their collaboration on the 2007 Los Chamizal Chardonnay garnered a
94-point review from Sonoma Sommelier Wine Magazine. Not being the type of men to settle, the duo set their
sights on the 2008 vintage to thread the line amongst the oaky-buttery
Nuevo-California, the often unbalanced tank fermented, and the traditionally
austere but multi-layered Burgundian styles of Chardonnay. This wine is a
testament to what can be created when farmer and winemaker partner to shape the
perfect Chardonnay.

2007 Sauvignon Blanc
Peterson
Vineyard, Sonoma Valley
1 bottle included
The mild Sonoma Valley
climate and barrel fermentation produce a rich texture, round fruitiness, and a
remarkably long finish. Neutral barrels, which have shed their oak flavor, used
for fermentation, soften and broaden the wine without overpowering its fruit
character. Tropical fruit flavors are accentuated over citrus making this wine
the perfect accompaniment to a beautiful spring day, our favorite, Dungeness
Crab, and a wide variety of lighter foods.

2007 Sauvignon Blanc
Windsor Oaks
Vineyard, Chalk Hill
1 bottle included
The coolness of the
Russian River Valley and the volcanic ash of Chalk Hill infuse this wine with a
beautiful mineral quality. We
ferment this Sauvignon Blanc in stainless steel tanks at very low temperature
to retain the crisp acids and bright citrus flavors that fill and freshen the
palate. This wine will be the bad
influence that makes you put off a Saturday project in favor of a glass of wine
on the patio in the afternoon sun.

2006 Merlot Cuvée
Sonoma County – New Release
2 bottles
included
From Hollywood to
Magazine reviews, the wine world is full of external stimuli that shape the
status quo, but we wouldn’t be Deerfield if we weren’t willing to challenge all
that. With the previous Merlot
Cuvée vintage, we proved that we could produce depth and balance capable of
converting even the most “Sideways” of wine drinkers. Robert hand
selected each barrel of Merlot to form the backbone of this wine and moved
outside the box to create a unique blend. Retail: $26
2006 Pinot Noir
Russian River Valley
Double
Gold, Sonoma County Harvest Fair
1 bottle included
Sonoma produces some of
the best Pinots in the world. Receiving the highest award of any Pinot Noir
entered in the Sonoma County Harvest Fair was both an honor and an
affirmation. Pinot Noir is known
for its subtlety and is a true reflection of the care taken in the winemaking
process. This thin-skinned grape
thrives in the Russian River Valley and under the gentle touch of winemaker,
Robert Rex. Using traditional
Burgundian practices, we aged sur-lees for two years and left the wine
un-fined, resulting in a feminine wine rich in fruit, floral notes and herbal
aromatics. Retail: $45

2003 Syrah
Ladi’s Vineyard, Sonoma
County
2 bottles included
Ladi’s Vineyard is in the
foothills of the Mayacamus Mountains, in an area rich with minerals deposited
over centuries of volcanic activity. At first glance, the brilliant color and thick glycerin ribbons of the
legs evoke images of dark, berry-laden cake. Chocolate and cedar provide a deep foundation to the
blackberry fruit. PJ says this
wine is truly singing right now.

another to fill the palate with transcendent notes of subtlety and depth to
produce the symphony. From neophyte
to connoisseur this wine will enlighten your senses and enhance your

2003 Cabernet Sauvignon
Los
Chamizal, Sonoma County
2
bottles included
Peter Haywood’s Los
Chamizal Vineyard climbs the steep walls of a small isolated valley near the
town of Sonoma. Robert and Peter selected just the best rows from several unique
sections of the vineyard to make this wine, each row highlighting a particular
micro-terroir of the vineyard. Their collaboration is evident in both this and
the 2008 Los Chamizal Chardonnay. They are dedicated to environmentally friendly farming and clean and
green winemaking practices. Their perfection of their craft is apparent in
every sip. Retail: $50
2002 DRX
North Coast
1 bottle included
The
DRX is our flagship wine, a five Bordeaux varietal, barrel select blend. To understand it is to understand the
soul of an artist. Robert hand picks the best tasting barrels of wine in the cave from
as many as 300 barrels from 27 vineyards to create the DRX, marking his
favorites with an X. Just as a
chef goes to the farmer’s market looking for the finest ingredients, we do the
same. Without a specific recipe in
mind, Robert looks to the individual components of each wine to dictate the
blend. Blended in the second year
of barrel aging the wine is returned to our favorite barrels for a third year.
This dedication to the final marriage of flavors is almost unheard of in the
industry. DRX exemplifies the art of blending. Retail: $85
